Police Investigate ‘Offensive’ Edits Made To Indigenous Wiki Page By IP Address Linked To VicPol




An IP tackle linked to Victoria Police has been caught modifying the Gulidjan Wikipedia page to water-down language used to explain the genocide of the tribe, the language of which has been virtually fully worn out because of colonisation. 

Victoria Police confirmed to PEDESTRIAN.TV that it's investigating the edits. 

“Victoria Police has been made conscious of edits to a webpage which were linked to a Victoria Police IP tackle.

“We perceive that the conduct that's believed to have occurred is each inappropriate and offensive to Aboriginal folks,” a police spokesman stated. 

Twitter person Strewth (@StrewthQueen) identified the modifications and searched the IP tackle accountable to make the connection to the Victoria Police. PEDESTRIAN.TV was capable of independently confirm the person’s account. 

An IP tackle belonging to Victoria Police was simply caught modifying the Wikipedia article for the Gulidjan nation, eradicating references to genocide & invasion.
