Wikipedia Faces Huge Backlash After Saying Pansexuality And Bisexuality Are The Same Thing

Wikipedia has been accused of “spreading misinformation” after incorrectly claiming that pansexuality and bisexuality are the identical factor throughout Bisexual Visibility Month.

On Thursday (2 September), a Twitter person shared a screenshot of the Wikipedia page for bisexuality, which states that the sexual orientation is “often known as pansexuality“. Later within the Wikipedia entry, it says: “Some sources state that bisexuality encompasses romantic or sexual attraction to all gender identities or that it's romantic or sexual attraction to an individual no matter that individual’s organic intercourse or gender, equating it to or rendering it interchangeable with pansexuality.” Sharing the screenshot, the Twitter person wrote: “Why is Wikipedia so f**king unhealthy at sexualities PANSEXUAL AND BISEXUAL ARE NOT THE SAME THING.” Others picked up on the Wikipedia web page, and took to social media to precise their discomfort, particularly because the web page can't be edited by most individuals as a result of it's “semi-protected” to forestall vandalism. One individual wrote: “F**ok Wikipedia, I’m genuinely so upset. Bisexual ≠ pansexual, bisexual is NOT an umbrella time period. When will this be understood?”

One other identified: “The truth that that is all occurring throughout Bi Visibility Month is completely disgusting.”

Wikipedia claimed that bisexuality is much less ‘inclusive’ than pansexuality

However issues went from unhealthy to worse, when social media customers discovered one other evident inaccuracy on the Wikipedia page for pansexuality.
